Important Dates

May 8: Intent to Participate opens

June 9: Intent to Participate due (required to register)

August 21: Registration opens

September 8: Registration closes (No late registrants accepted)

September 21: Memorandum of Understanding & Minor Release Form due

October 5–October 7: Shakespeare Competition

Receive Southern Utah University Credit

Earn one university credit by participating in the Shakespeare Competition. This opportunity is available to all students who are sophomores, juniors, or seniors during the 2023-24 academic year. More information and an application will be coming soon.

To compete in the competition, follow these steps:

1. Complete the Intent to Participate form. (Open May 8 - June 9, 2023)

Please make sure to complete this step as our email list for the current competition is generated from this form. YOU CANNOT REGISTER WITHOUT HAVING FILLED OUT THIS FORM.

2. Assemble your competition team.

Decide what events your school wants to compete in. Decide which students will be competing in which events. (Students may not compete in both Acting Monologues and Acting Duo/Trio as they compete at the same time.)

3. Register your team at competition.bard.org. (Open August 21 - September 8, 2023)

You can make changes to your registration any time while registration is open. After September 8, 2023 no changes can be made.

4. Pay registration fee.

Once you receive an invoice, please mail a check to:

Payment can also be made by paying with a credit card over the phone at 435-586-7878. Please do not try to pay for the competition until you have received your invoice.

5. Complete Memorandum of Understanding & Minor Release Forms. (Open Summer 2023 - September 21, 2023)

Forms must be completed by participating schools and students in order to compete. Please see the “Forms” link above for more details.

6. Join us October 5-7 for the competition in Cedar City!
