Jan 2: Intent to Participate has opened- CLICK HERE TO COMPLETE FORM
June 7: Intent to Participate closes (required to register)
August 19: Registration opens
September 6: Registration closes (No late registrants accepted)
September 20: Memorandum of Understanding due (For Teachers)
September 27: Minor Release Form due (For students/parent)
October 3–October 5: Shakespeare Competition
To compete in the competition, follow these steps:
1. Complete the Intent to Participate form. (Open Jan 2 - June 7, 2024)
Please make sure to complete this step as our email list for the current competition is generated from this form. YOU CANNOT REGISTER WITHOUT HAVING FILLED OUT THIS FORM.
2. Assemble your competition team.
Decide what events your school wants to compete in. Decide which students will be competing in which events. (Students may not compete in both Acting Monologues and Acting Duo/Trio as they compete at the same time.)
3. Register your team at competition.bard.org. (Open August 19 - September 6, 2024)
You can make changes to your registration any time while registration is open. After September 6, 2024 no changes can be made.
4. Pay registration fee.
The base registration fee for each participating team is $200. Each additional competitive category (dance, music, tech) is $75.
Registration fees are waived for all Utah public and charter schools thanks to the Utah State Office of Education (Professional Outreach Program in the Schools) grant.
Once you receive an invoice, please mail a check to:

Payment can also be made by paying with a credit card over the phone at 435-586-7878. Please do not try to pay for the competition until you have received your invoice.
5. Teachers complete MOU. Students complete Minor Release Forms. (Open June 2024 - Sep 20, 2024)
6. Join us October 3-5 for the competition in Cedar City!
Receive Southern Utah University Credit
Earn one university credit by participating in the Shakespeare Competition. This opportunity is available to all students who are sophomores, juniors, or seniors during the 2024-25 academic year. It is first-come-first serve and under the direction of SUU Admissions.
